The Development Innovation Lab (DIL) at the University of Chicago uses the tools of economics to develop innovations with the potential to benefit millions of people in low- and middle-income countries. It was founded and is led by Nobel laureate Michael Kremer.
Job Summary:
DIL is looking to hire a student worker to support the Operations and Administration team. This role will support a wide range of administrative projects, and students will gain valuable insight into the operations of an international research lab. This role is critical to advancing DIL’s mission and research.
This position is ideally for someone who enjoys a mix of routine tasks and emerging projects. Candidates must be proactive, reliable, and have strong communication skills. This position requires at least 5 hours of availability each week, with a preference for at least 1 hour of in-person work time.
Responsibilities may include:
- Ordering, receiving, and setting up food for events and meetings
- Ordering and distributing snacks and office supplies
- Working with DIL staff to support the recruitment processes for new team members
- Website updates
- Coordinating newsletter material
- Special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in progress

- Interest in learning about and supporting the administration and operations of an international nonprofit research organization
- Proactive and effective communication
- Timeliness and reliability
- Coding and/or website experience preferred
