Moritz is spending the 2026-27 academic year at DIL as a Postdoctoral Fellow before joining Rice University as an Assistant Professor. In his dissertation work at Brown University, he explored the mechanisms behind the success of a popular anti-poverty intervention. He is also fascinated by rural weekly markets and their role in structural transformation. His work recently expanded to cover intergenerational impacts of anti-poverty programs as well as the socio-economic impacts of health innovations like vaccines. He has lived in seven countries and his travels have made him an avid landscape and wildlife photographer.
