Michelle Cherian is Research Manager at the Development Innovation Lab (DIL) at the University of Chicago. Before this role, she led extensive evidence reviews for the Innovation Commission and worked as a research professional on water and child health RCTs in Nigeria and India at DIL. Prior to joining DIL, she served as a data research assistant on gender-focused projects at Oxford University and as a policy consultant in the education directorate at the OECD. She also led large-scale RCTs in Punjab and Haryana as a research associate at J-PAL South Asia, where she oversaw implementation monitoring, managed field teams, and contributed to survey design, data collection, and analysis.
Michelle holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Public Policy from the Paris School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.
