Ankit serves as Director of Human-Centered Weather Forecasts at DIL where he collaborates with governments, academic institutions, technology companies and other partners to apply advanced AI in delivering tailored weather forecasts that improve lives.
Previously, he worked as the NASA–USAID SERVIR Continental Coordinator for Asia at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and led strategy, public affairs and communications.
From 2012 to 2020, he was based in Singapore, leading sustainability research initiatives at the National University of Singapore and contributing to applied research at Nanyang Technological University’s Earth Observatory of Singapore. He also supported the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction in developing analytical frameworks for the Sendai Framework in Central Asia.
Ankit holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mumbai and three master’s degrees spanning public administration, environmental planning and social development. He was awarded the prestigious COP 15 Climate Change Scholarship by the Government of Denmark.
Outside work, he enjoys cooking, traveling, mountaineering, and scuba diving
