Deqa brings extensive international development experience from organizations including the World Bank, Heartland Alliance International, Busara Center for Behavioral Economics, and Harhub Business Incubator, where she has managed complex development projects across the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. Her skills span behavioral economics, policy analysis, project management, and stakeholder engagement. Deqa was a Pearson Institute Fellow at the University of Chicago, where she completed her RA with Dr. Roger Myerson, and was selected as an Obama Scholar in 2022. She has authored papers on contextualization of research methods for real-world impact. In her free time, she serves as a board member of GirlForward in Chicago, Common Good Institute in Kenya, and a mentor for the Athari Group. Deqa holds a BA in Political Science & Psychology from Grinnell College and an MPP in Markets & Regulation and International Development from the University of Chicago.
